The Full Story

A Storied Cornerstone Since 1845

Nestled along County Road in West Glover, Vermont, the E.O. Randall & Co. General Store has stood as a steadfast fixture of community life for generations. First opened by Elias Orson Randall in 1845, the store quickly became more than just a place to buy staples and dry goods—it was a crossroads for neighbors, a teller of news, and the warm heart of a working town.

In the early days, Mr. Randall himself could be found behind the counter, measuring flour by the scoop and sharing stories over barrels of cider. After many faithful years of service, he sold the store to a local man named Webster, ushering in a new chapter under the name Webster Store. But Randall wasn’t quite ready to let go—drawn back by his enduring love for the place, he purchased it once more, continuing the proud tradition before passing the torch a final time.

In the 1980s, with the shimmering calm of Lake Parker just down the road, the store became known as the Lake Parker Country Store, reflecting its place beside the water and the steady rhythm of small-town Vermont life.

Today, in a full-circle moment rich with memory and meaning, the store returns to its original name and purpose—E.O. Randall & Co. General Store—a tribute to heritage, honest goods, and the enduring charm of a well-worn wooden floor and a familiar faces behind the counter, but this time, of owners Katherine von Stackelberg and Garth Brooks.

Staples, dry goods, cider, and a sense of place—served fresh daily, just like old times.
